OH HOME GYM MIRRORS, MIRRORS: WHAT ARE YOU FOR?
Is it for self-esteem and vanity? Or for good form and security? Well, maybe a little bit of question A and a little bit of question B. Having mirrors in your home gym is not just a must, it's more of a necessity.
Training at home is the most comfortable and private way to bodybuild. It is the alternative for those who don't have the time, are to shy or just don't have the money to join a commercial gym. Picture it: Never have to wait for your next set of dumbbell curls or worrying about the eclectic gym crowd. Just yourself and well, your own reflexion.
Home gyms are often built in basements or restrain areas of the house or apartment. So adding mirrors to the walls will help making the space look larger and more spacious. Also starring at nothing for hours isn't really entertaining. A home gym doesn't have to be a dungeon with bad lighting and cracked walls.
Good Form and Motivation
Since many people workout alone when they are at home, mirrors are your best allies for keeping good form during your training sessions. Lifting weights inadequately could result in serious injuries and cause nerve damage and stiffen the articulations.
By watching yourself in the mirror, you can better balance yourself, execute movements with more confidence and detect what you may possibly be doing wrong.
Having mirrors in your home gym is also a good motivational asset. Since you don't have to drag yourself out of the house to go to the gym, it's easy to substitute the stationary bike and dumbbells by the couch and the TV. Seeing your body changing as workouts go by, literally felling and seeing the pump while working out is the best motivation you can ever find.
Whether you are a beginner, a hardgainer or a muscle freak, sometimes the training sessions put to much stress on the body and plateaus can make you depressed. So working out in front of a mirror will give you an honest look at where you stand training wise, and where you should be heading to be successful.
Installing mirrors in your home gym can help on many aspects of your training:
Always remember that in bodybuilding, even if you're alone at home, seeing is believing.
- Help to keep good form during exercises
- Helps detecting lagging body parts
- Provide motivation
- Honest view of your conditioning
