IDS BETANOX (CITRUS BLAST)
Hi everyone, this is Steve Sidorski once again and I am reviewing the Berry Lemonade naturally flavoured version of the BetaNox ultimate pre-workout drink by IDS which contains mainly Beta Alanine.
I tried this Berry Lemonade flavour and I enjoy it immensely. You can also get Citrus Blast if you want. It tastes pretty much like the Berry flavour of 5 Hour Energy drink. It is sweet, tangy, refreshing and also has a great aftertaste. It tastes so good that I can barely wait until the time I am supposed to take it which is fifteen to thirty minutes before my next workout.
As for the benefits of Beta Alanine I am not too sure personally so be sure to visit this website at the least: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta-Alanine. For those who are too lazy I will give you an executive summary about the effects of Beta Alanine: Supplementation with ?-alanine / Beta Alanine has been shown to increase the concentration of carnosine in your muscles, decrease fatigue in athletes and increase total muscular work done.
Matt, I know that you are a big fan of peer-reviewed studies done by universities on humans so keep reading. Here are some of the benefits of Beta-Alanine as supported by scientific studies: increases muscular strength and power output, boosts muscle mass, increase anaerobic endurance, increases aerobic endurance and it puts off muscular fatigue so you can train harder and longer.
There are at least three situations where you can benefit from Beta-Alanine: They are 1. Individuals participating in weight training looking to gain both muscle mass and increase strength; 2. Any individual involved in sporting activities where strength, power and muscular endurance are needed; and 3. Exercise addicts who reached a training plateau and are looking for a supplement to take them to the very next level.
Research has shown that you can take about 3.2 grams to 6.4 grams per day to significantly improve carnosine levels as well as performance.
