Darrem Charles has arms which are somewhat short, but he looks excellent in this side triceps pose. Darrem always displays world class conditioning, which makes any pose look good, and especially this one.

Ahmad Haidar is the kind of guy who woes you with his deep cut abs and a physique for everyday life. While many bodybuilders are too big for the tastes of most people, Ahmad's muscularity is not pushing the limits, and he was very successful in this contest as a result.

Victor Martinez looked pretty good at this show. I think Victor may end up like Chris Cormier in that he will be talked about consistently as the guy able to be the best in the world if only he reaches his potential - in this case, what brings Victor down is his conditioning. Sure - Victor would be top three if he got his conditioning in order - but is this possible? Does he have the drive to do it? Does he have the genetics to do it? This is one of the reasons why talk about "potential" is sometimes meaningless. I would guess that Victor could be way up there at the top of the pack if he did nail his conditioning, and further, I think he has the genetic potential to do it as well, as his showings at the 2003 Night of Champions and 2004 GNC Show of Strength have shown. But will he keep it up? Only Victor knows.

Craig Richardson was not lacking much in this contest. He has good balance, huge legs, and an incredibly striated chest. All in all, I can't say much in the way of criticism - as long as he continues to make uniform improvements, his placings should continue to improve. I don't imagine it will be too long before he is in the mix at the Olympia and placing in the top 10.
Capriese Murray is just a freak. He made an appearance in Victor Martinez' training DVD and I knew it at the time. He is definitely huge and has a good future in bodybuilding. He should aim to develop his lower lats as they are fairly high right now. Otherwise, he is pretty balanced and cut.
Chris Cook worked hard for years to finally earn his pro card in 2004. Then after years of struggling, he became the new great white hype. This is both good and bad. It's good because it puts Chris in the spotlight and gets him some magazine coverage, which is beneficial for every bodybuilder, but the problem is, it puts him in the same position as other bodybuilders like Gunter Schlierkamp and Aleksander Fedorov - it's a lot of pressure, and if you don't deliver, it's easy to get forgotten. That having been said, Chris did very well at this show. He missed a qualification to the Mr. Olympia by just one spot. I suspect a good future for Chris. If he can improve his back, he should do fine. His physique is already world class and Olympia potential to me, other than that one aspect of it. However, if Lee Haney, Dorian Yates, and Ronnie Coleman have taught us anything, it's that the back is not something which Olympia competitors can have lagging (and of course, the winners even moreso).
